The longer the transmission distance, the more severe the waveform distortion. In digital video systems, waveform distortion will cause inter-symbol interference, reduce the sensitivity of light receiving, and affect the extended distance of the system.

The loss of the optical fiber line includes the loss of the optical fiber active connector and the splicing loss of the optical fiber, of course, the main loss per kilometer of the optical fiber. If the loss per kilometer of the optical fiber is smaller, the loss of the signal optical power on the optical fiber is smaller, and the transmission distance of the optical signal in the optical fiber is farther.
